This novel sensor was developed for a high resolution monitoring of dynamic strain of low amplitude, like induced by blasts, earth-quakes or other seismic events.
Its special trancducing carrier allows the sensor a reliable mea- surement of strains < 0.05 µm/m. Combined with a fast detecting FBG monitoring system the sensor allows the recording of vibrations up to 150 Hz, that are typically induced by seismic waves.
